This is actually a simplified version of a turned carrot. First peel and cut off ends of carrot. Make a diagonal cut about 1/2 inch from tip of carrot. Turn the carrot so the diagonal cut is going the opposite direction from your knife and make another cut. Try to make the carrot pieces a similar size. Turn the carrot again so the diagonal cut is going the opposite way and cut again. As you approach the thicker part of the carrot make cuts a little closer so you can still have similar size pieces.
